A Kzinti shuttle has crashed on a Federation protectorate, and the crew of the USS Sagitarrius has been ordered to retrieve the occupant and return him to safety.
Unfortunately, Terra 6 (known to its inhabitants as "Kentuckiana") is equivalent to late 20th-century Earth’s Kentucky, and, in addition to the Preserver-transplanted Humans, are a large number of what are best described as cryptids. Can the landing party safely extract the anthropologist Doctor Kett from the planet?
