This template (the same as {{class}}, without the hyphen) is for linking to a ship class. Basic usage requires the name of the class as shown below:

{{class1|Galaxy}}

produces: Galaxy class

If linking to a class that includes an extension in its name (to disambiguate it from other similarly named classes), add the extension (excluding parentheses) after the class name, for example:

{{class1|Normandy|carrier}}

produces: Normandy class
