Real-world perspective

Art Binninger produced three Star Trix fan films in 1974-75 with help from his friends in the Air Force’s Audio Visual Squadron, and a fourth (based on Star Trek: The Motion Picture) in 1979-84.

Style

The films use stop-motion animation of characters made from modeling clay. It was photographed on Super 8mm film.

The storylines involve parody versions of the original series Enterprise and bridge crew.

Ships

USS Fulton's Folly, Klepton ship in Star Trix 2 (Klingon model), Vulcan shuttle, USS Wolfgang, Romulan warbird and the Yellow Submarine appear briefly in the Martian Rush Hour scene of Star Trix - The Flick.
