A fanwork is any creative work or labor produced by a fan, or fans, of a particular property. In the case of STEU, the fanworks catalogued here are those based on and inspired by the Star Trek franchise.
Examples of fanworks include, but are not limited to:

- Fan films, web series or audio dramas
- Fanzines
- Fan art
- Fan comics
- Filk and fan-written songs about Star Trek

- Fan reference works, including those considered part of technical fandom.
